California New Car Dealer Association’s 2023 Franchise Bill

Last month, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the California New Car Dealer Association’s 2023 Franchise Bill (AB 473), signaling a massive win for franchised new car dealers in the state.

Authored and championed by Assembly Member Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-Winters), the bill strengthens CA’s franchise laws, creating a fairer and more balanced environment for dealers. • Post-sale Subscription Limits: Ensures fairness in consumer choices
• Transparent Reservations: Open process for dealers and consumers
• Reimbursement for Digital Services: Manufacturers reimburse dealers for non-compliant services
